A: “Yes it’s neither mercenary nor materialistic. Self-supporting means it charges for whatever the expenses are. You gonna put on a conference, a conference is going to cost you plenty. And you divide it up and try to figure out what is going to make it work, with a little surplus left over to pay the office staff until the next one. So it’s self-propagating so you don’t have to solicit funds through fund-raising, see. So you don’t have to work people.”
